Fall starts this Sunday September 22nd so it’s time to update our Fall Fairs for Boston information for 2013. Though King Richard’s Faire and the Big E have already started there is still plenty of time to go out and enjoy these great annual festivals. The weather is supposed to be great this weekend.
Each year it seems as though the music is getting better and better. Though these fairs are typically better known for the food and rides The Big E and the Topsfield Fair have music acts for both the young and the more seasoned in your group.
Tonight you can catch Hunter Douglas at the xFinity arena at the Big E but the tickets are going fast. If you are not familiar with him he is an up and coming country music singer who in our house is better known for his duet with this year’s The Voice winner Danielle Bradbury. If you are a reality music show fan you can also catch our own Angie Miller at the Topsfield fair. This Beverly native was a finalist on American Idol and her performance will be part of the free Grandstand shows included with your ticket. If those don’t catch your attention(or your kids) Cher Lloyd, CoCo Jones and Britt Nicole are also appearing at one of these fairs.
For those of us who are a little more “seasoned” the Beach Boys and none other than Bobby Vinton. I confess I had to do some research to remember who he was. On his website it opens with:
Bobby Vinton has been called “the most successful love singer of the ‘Rock-Era'” . (BILLBOARD MAGAZINE) Starting with his first hit release ” Roses Are Red” in 1962 through 1972 (10 years) he had more #1 records than any other solo male artist. (BILLBOARD MAGAZINE)
At that point the lyrics of “Roses are Red” started playing in my head. The Beach Boys concert is free but there are also some premium tickets still available as of this writing. The links below take you to the official Boston Fair sites. We have also included the link to the NH Highland Games and Festival that is taking place this weekend Sep 20-22 in Lincoln New Hampshire.
King Richard’s Faire (also referred to as the New England Renaissance Festival)
We have added the Life is Good Festival which is also taking place this weekend. Another great opportunity for family fun and classic music. Hall and Oates will be there as will be Yo Yo Gabba for the kids. As this is a fundraiser tickets are a bit
The video above is from Bridget Mendler performance at last year’s Topsfield Fair. You can see great Family Fun was had by all. Enjoy the fall in New England!
