Jimmy Fund Scooper Bowl 2010Today and tomorrow are promising to be possible record breakers for heat here in the Boston area so it is a great time for ice cream.  Luckily the 29th annual Scooper Bowl is currently taking place on Boston City Hall Plaza.  This annual event brought to you by FedEx is a fundraiser for the Jimmy Fund a more than worthy cause.

Though tickets are no longer available online you can still buy them at the door.  The Scooper Bowl started yesterday and will go through to 8pm tomorrow night when the temperature is supposed to be in the 90’s.

We have written about the event in the past if you want to know more about its history.  The most important part is that there will be a variety of ice cream, frozen yogurt, sorbet and even gelato  from name brands like Ben & Jerry’s, Baskin Robbins and Brighams(just to name a few).  There’s also usually music as well.

FedEx put up a video recently from the event last year.  As you will see it’s fun for everyone.  Don’t forget that even if you can’t make it to the event you can always contribute to the Jimmy Fund directly.
