Mayor Menino has kicked off his annual Holiday Special website for Greater Boston.  This is the 7th year that a partnership between the Mayor’s Office, Arts Boston and the Greater Boston Convention and Visitors Bureau have come together to offer this central place for planning your Holiday events in the Greater Boston Area.

The information you find is not just for planning you will also find half price deals on many of the Holiday’s favorite shows like the NutCracker.  You can find a variety of events tailored to your specific interests and budgets.  They even have a free/low cost section that highlights events like the tree lighting this Thursday December 2nd at the Boston Common.

Our family took advantage of half price tickets this past weekend to the NutCracker.  We were thankful to not pay full price since we were not sure whether our son would enjoy it.  We had brought our children to the NutCracker a couple of years back and at the age of 5 my son did not seem to appreciate the story.  This year he really enjoyed it and it was a great way to end the Thanksgiving Weekend and officially get into the Christmas spirit.  I highly recommend trying the MayorsHolidaySpecial.com website if you plan to go to any of the shows this year.

This year they have also added a $10 voucher/coupon off of meals at close to 20 restaurants in the Boston area.  This is a great way to include a meal as part of your night out.  It’s good for the restaurants since it brings in more people and it saves you a little money when you are on a tight budget.

We highly recommend taking advantage of the MayorsHolidaySpecial website!
