Video: Kid’s trick hockey shot at the Garden becomes internet hit
The Bruins are running a promotion at the Garden called “TD Bank Mini 1-on-1,” in which two junior players face off in a shoot out. The event has caused an internet stir due to the amazing trick shot delivered by 9-year-old Oliver Wahlstrom, a junior player from Maine. Now, I’d try to give the shot a primer, but I’m not even sure what is actually happening to the puck, and I think there might be some magic involved. You really should just see it for yourself.
I know, poor goalie, right?
Wahlstrom plays for Maine’s Portland Junior Pirates Pee-Wee Major 97. The team consists of 12-year-old players, but due to Wahlstroms finesse, he’s been playing with the big kids.
It also probably helps that his dad is Swedish Elite League veteran Joakim Wahlstrom.
According to NESN, the entire promotional event will air during the intermission of the Bruin’s October 29th game against the New Jersey Devils.

With a little bit of practice all hockey players can accomplish that.
