Simmons School of Management Presents Alumnae Achievement Award to Gretchen Fox

In a world where the odds are clearly stacked against entrepreneurs, the journey of a female entrepreneur proves to be a lesson in fighting one’s way to the top. Simmons College alumna Gretchen Fox exemplifies the power and intelligence necessary to flourish in the business world, and in honor of her extensive business and philanthropic efforts, the Simmons School of Management recently awarded Fox the Phyllis Rappaport Alumnae Achievement Award. Presented each year to a School of Management alum whose post-graduate work fulfills the values of leadership demonstrated within the school, this year’s winner exemplifies the school’s mission of empowering women to succeed within the male-dominated business world. A 1987 graduate of the Simmons SOM, Fox is the founder of FOX RPM Corporation, the project and relocation management firm known for its innovative methods and high degree of professionalism. Even with FOX RPM’s rate of success, Fox doesn’t fear deviating from traditional rules and regulations in the workplace. She has been noted for her flexibility in work hours, a quality that has proven to be extremely useful to FOX RPM’s employees, particularly those with family responsibilities.

Outside of the office, Fox utilizes her business savvy to help others, as well. As a member of the Commonwealth Institute, the Center for Women and Enterprise, and the School of Management’s Corporate Advisory Board, Fox remains committed to finding affordable homes for individuals with disabilities. Now that her own company has recently reached the 20-year mark, Fox looks back fondly on the time when FOX RPM’s staff consisted strictly of herself. She recognizes the skills she utilizes as a professional today were instilled in her while attaining her graduate degree at Simmons.

As the country’s sole graduate business school strictly for women, the Simmons College School of Management continues to produce innovative leaders in the business world. For more information, please visit
